Equine Dog Lovers with Style

I have been a Dressage rider for more than half my life. I started riding when I was only seven years old and never stopped. I still struggle with it every day and try to be better, but I love horses and the sport of Dressage. I am very fortunate to be working for an Olympic Bronze Medal winner who makes it look so easy!
When I lived in Iowa City, Iowa, I helped out at a Dressage barn called Diamond W Stables owned by Susan Wallen. She let me ride her horses (Stan taught me canter pirouettes and passages..in fact I rarely got him to do a working trott...) and I started a riding school there. At that time I didn't have my own dog, but luckily there are plenty of dogs around a horse barn.
Usually horse people are dog people too. In fact, ask any husband fortunate to get one of us equestrian ladies to commit to them. First comes the horse (he needs his carrots), then comes the dog (I want that new leash. He will walk so much better with this one!) and then comes the husband. :-)
Most husbands have accepted that fact. Good for you. For those who have not yet done so, a word of advise, Just give in to it and accept it. It will never change. The poor 'babies' don't have opposable thumbs and we keep them captive, so they must be taken care of first and foremost. (Also their fur is so much softer and nobody gives better kisses than a horse or a dog!) Since you do have two healthy hands and thumbs and a brain with much bigger capacity, we assume you can take of yourself...
But I diverge. As said horse lover, I always look for little ways to take my equine style with me on the road. Needless to say, I got me some of those really beautiful horse shoe charms for the Daggie's Leashes, so that all you equine fans can share in my excitement. So the next time your horse/dog lover friend has a birthday, or maybe just because she's a great friend, get her a Daggie's Leash with the horse charm. She'll appreciate your thought and impeccable style! And make sure you have your own. Wouldn't want to hit the runway ehm I mean stall isle without that perfect accessory!
